In case you were wondering who Majuba Men's Residence is let me tell you very briefly. The University of Johannesburg (UJ) is geographically situated in the biggest city in Africa, Johannesburg. The UJ has four campuses in Soweto, Doornfontein and Auckland Park. We have about 26 student residences, which accommodate more than 2800 students, and 7 Day Houses. Five of our student residences are situated in one of the two campuses in Auckland Park. Majuba Men's Residence is one of the latter five situated in the hill over looking the central and northen part of Johannesburg on the Auckland Park Bunting Road Campus.
Majuba Men's Residence accommodates 310 junior male students in its 11-floor tower. It has 50 double rooms and 210 single room. Each floor has about 30 students. There facilities which are shared by +- 15 students on each floor wing, like bathrooms, kitchens and laundry facilities.
This student residence also has a Study Centre and a Cyber Centre with about 10 work stations. There an entertainment centre as well with a plasma TV with the DSTV service.
Majuba, as an old building, continously undergoes renovations to improve and further modernise it.
